On January 1st, 2010, after 14 years of "the most fun you can have with your boots on", Cowboys has closed its doors.  The City of Calgary has expropriated the land that Cowboys is located on to build an underpass into the new East Village.

Since 1996, Cowboys has gained recognition as a world-famous tourist landmark and has become an icon for Calgarians. Cowboys has become a legendary story captivating guests from all corners of the globe, where playboy meets country, the stage for treasured friendships, the greatest courtships, and the most amusing mistakes and fondest memories!

Much more than a mere dance hall, Cowboys has built an adult playground comparable to Studio 54 and Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras.  Cowboys has generated raving fans by offering the best in live entertainment, guest appearances and jaw-dropping beautiful women!  Cowboys is a world-famous watering hole where CEO’s rub shoulders with university freshman. The non-stop party, celebrity and athlete clientele, and the intrigue of the Cowboys urban myth have truly spawned a notorious social fascination.
